PATA ANNUAL SUMMIT & ADVENTURE MART-2023

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is a not-for-profit membership- based association that acts as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from, and within the Asia Pacific region. PATA Annual Summit & Adventure Mart-2023 was a 4 days program organized from 30th May to 2nd June. NTHMC provided total of 15 volunteers for 3 days. Volunteers supported their best by picking up the guests from Airport and providing them as a  helping hands in mays ways they can. They also attended the seminar during their free time. Volunteers were also provided with PATA T-shirt.

On 30th May, the program was inaugurated. Board meeting was organized for government members along with PATA executive board meeting. There was also award session where the CEO of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Mr. Dhananjay Regmi    got awarded along with other different personalities. The first day of program ended with the lavish dinner hosted by NTB.

On 31st May, Mr. Peter Semone and Mr. Paul Pruangkarn welcomed the program. The main stage conference was on ‘Insights into the future of tourism in the Asia Pacific, challenges & opportunities for responsible tourism industry and on ways to drive higher value tourism’, where the international panelists were also present.

On 1st June of conference and Travel Mart of PATA, the conference was on ‘Managing crises and challenges in the post pandemic world’, ‘Activating partnership with community for sustainability’, ‘Knowledge on ways to work with social media influencers’ along with different international panelist. There was youth symposium program where total of 68 students from NTHMC (BBA, BBA-BI & BHM) participated. Our student Mr. Pratik Gurung (BHM) raised question on AI system and its impact in hospitality and tourism trade.

Mentorship session was also held along with 10 mentors on different topics such as ‘Reasons for leaving tourism carrier’, ‘Scope of tourism and hospitality’, ‘Impact of Information Technology in digitalization of tourism industry’ and so on. Panelist across the different countries were invited on talk show program. Ms. Barsha Gurung (BHM student) provided presentation at the end of the mentorship session.

On 2nd June, PATA members visited different tourism places like Phewa lake, Davis Falls and Gupteshwor cave, Peace Pagoda and were dropped at the official hotel after that.
